The Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) is your ticket to becoming a trusted emergency care provider in various healthcare settings. Aligned with the PHEM skills framework at descriptor level D as well as covering the full range of skills required by the HSE for first aid, this qualification equips you with the knowledge and clinical practice needed to tackle a wide range of prehospital care scenarios.
Gaining confidence in administering safe and effective prehospital care to managing emergencies, this course prepares you to demonstrate your expertise in providing life-saving treatment.

Syllabus
Are you ready to become a certified first responder? Level 3 First Response Emergency Care is the comprehensive training program you’ve been looking for. Designed to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge needed to handle emergency situations, this course covers a wide range of subjects. From CPR and AED techniques for adults, children, and infants, to airway management, trauma assessment and treatment, fracture management, and more. You’ll also learn how to handle medical emergencies, manage unconscious patients, and complete patient report forms accurately.

What do we mean by “equivalent”?
We accept other qualifications that comply with the relevant guidance from the Health and Safety Executive. Some examples are:
First Aid at Work (FAW)
First Person on Scene (FPOS)
First Response Emergency Care (FREC)
Certification
Upon successful completion of the written and practical assessments the following certificates will be awarded:
Qualsafe Level 3 Award in First Response Emergency Care (RQF), which is valid for 3 years.
Pre-entry criteria
Learners must be at least 17 years old on the first day of the training.
There are no other formal entry requirements but to benefit from the learning we advise that Learners have a minimum of Level 2 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent and a basic understanding of first aid.

IMPORTANT:
If you are progressing onto FREC 4, you must complete 118 hours of logged post-course contextualised learning before your certificate is issued.
If you are staying at FREC 3 level, you will receive your qualification shortly after completing your course.
Be aware that this must be renewed and individual CPD documentation to confirm currency.
